Rotationplasty is a rarely used procedure to save the lower leg of a child for whom bone cancer has destroyed their knee. The procedure turns the foot into a replacement for the knee giving the child more mobility. But rotationplasty remains rare because very few surgical teams are experienced at performing the procedure.
